The Roland Juno-60, a legendary analog polyphonic Synthesizer from 1982. The built-in chorus is just as legendary. This has already been cloned, modeled umpteen times, and released as a new pedal or plug-in. Just recently Adam Bell published a free AUv3 app for iPhone/iPad that emulates it. A new company called MOE or “Madeonearth” from Israel is now also venturing into the Juno-60 chorus effect. MOE Analog Chorus 60 MOE Analog Chorus 60 The Analog Chorus 60 is a clone of the iconic Juno-60 chorus circuits in pedal format. The developer announces on his website that it is the perfect clone. That’s because it uses the original parts of the circuit. It uses two “xvive mn3009” and the original Panasonic “2x mn3101” chips (rare parts!), original transistors 2SC1815, 2SA1015, and 2SK30A-GR with the exact same circuit. Well, I’ll leave that to you to judge if it’s a clone or replica. The user interface is completely different. Instead of the prominent two buttons with only three rate modes, MOE (Madeonearth) added knobs to control different features. You can smoothly set the rate of the chorus, the depth of the modulation, and the stereo width. This significantly expands the sound spectrum of the effect. No panic, the original settings are also available right on the interface via printed signs around the rate knob. MOE also added an extra LFO/CV input for additional modulation options and an input in gain control to accommodate any type of instruments (guitars or synthesizers). The housing is very colorful in red/blue and is made of aluminum with UV printings and high-quality “Alpha” potentiometers. Connectivity On the backside, you have a mono input (TS), a stereo output (2x TS), an external CV in, and a 9V DC-12V DC 1A power supply input with center positive. A nice pedal that also sounds excellent. The price is high compared to other clones. But you get a replica based on the original parts and with new features.
